And sure, I left out some really great ones, but that is because I think you saw them too many times on every other list made by anyone with a similar music preference to me. Please tell me what you think of the rankings, and if things should go in different places. I am still opening to modifying this list, and making changes to it.

I really want to get Armchair Apocrypha.
and even if i had listened to it, i doubt i would have included it, since it was atop almost every list ever, and that was what i was trying to avoid. I even left out Strawberry Jam, which was an awesome album.
awesome awesome to see julia and angus on any list, automatically makes it a great list, and to see it on a Canadian's (ooh it just turned noon, allowed now to capitalise, nice), that's fantastic. There are a few here I haven't heard but what I have I can't argue with them being really good albums. Personally I would have A&J Stone, St. Vincent closer to the top, haha, but they are two of my hugest obsessions of the year, of course.

Of Montreal is above and beyond the best album of the year, so i felt it necessary to take the most meaningful line from the album and title the list in that way. and i agree with you 100% that The Past Is a Grotesque Animal is one of the best songs of the year, and that is definitely a feat because it is almost 12 minutes. you don't see that much anymore.
i saw them twice since they released the album, and the first time was like 3 weeks after the album release. they didnt even play it that time. Then in november they opened the show with it, and it was definitely the best way to kick off a show ever.
and of course A&J stone makes the list. Not the top 10, because there was too much awesome stuff this year that was better than that album. this list was more me trying to promote the music i loved on a weighted list.
anything you haven't listened to on this list i would highly recommend you go ahead and seek it out.
